I heard Rangel make this argument before the election. It wouldn't have made any difference if his idea had been plastered across the front pages of every major paper. The American people are politically ignorant. Blissfully stupid is probably more accurate. A poll prior to the election claimed less then 50% of Americans knew who Nancy Pelosi was. 2 heartbeats from the presidency and unknown. The dumbing down of America has been quite successful. Doomed, doomed, I tell you.
