But what if the reform has already taken place, and jihadism is it?"

Ironically, the reform TO jihadism was brought about by the rise of literacy where the readers directly get the word of Mohammed rather than a filtered version provided by mullahs, imams, etc. The clergy does not lead, it follows.

Five times a day every jihadist gets down on his hands and knees, sticks his butt up in the air and his face to the ground and prays, "I pray for the absolute best: that I will die in battle killing the infidel."

Given that, how can we even begin to think negotiation with these people is possible? Their entire mindset, lifestyle and mores set is totally devoted to one thing and one thing only, killing us. For them, killing us is a matter of survival.

And how do we respond? With a bunch of squishy Politically Correct crap. We may as well speak to them in a language they don't understand.

Squishy is gonna get a bunch of us killed. The 3000 that died on 9/11 (prayers for them and their families and God rest their souls) were just the beginning.

My prayer is that those in charge will come to realize that you cannot win a war by fighting in a Politically Correct manner when your opponent does not have a mindset even remotely capable of understanding what Politically Correct means.

For a moment we should take a look at the West from the mooslim perspective, and they see a civilization in the thrall of crackpot Freudian psychobabble that only brings on self-hatred. Why would they even respect us much less want to assimilate into our "culture?" First we take Political Correctness out behind the barn and shoot it down with extreme predjudice, and then we take on the primitives and send them packing back to the 7th century or we kill them.

Political Correctness:

”A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

By spreading this definition around, perhaps we can employ one of the more effective methods of deflating and defeating the fools who practice and promote it: RIDICULE.

Unless stopped – and soon – PC will DESTROY Western Civilization -- if it hasn’t already.

PASS IT ON!!

Feminism and atheism may be two of our most important allies in the coming fight against Islam.

Will the First Amendment's prohibition against any religion getting government sanction or support help us prevent Muslims from imposing Islam on the rest of us?

Seeing how good a job feminism and atheism have done defending Europe against Islam (compared to how good a job Christianity did defending Europe against Islam for the prior 1400 years), no thanks. Will the First Amendment's prohibition against any religion getting government sanction or support help us prevent Muslims from imposing Islam on the rest of us?

You don't understand. In a Muslim majority nation, there is no first amendment. There is no constitution. There is Sharia.

Although I agree with sentence #1, I think you've been watching too much regular TV as many live a Christian life-we are human and sinners to be forgiven by Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Today, on regular TV I tuned in Joel Osteen who's messages inspire me and about 7-9 million each week. I hope to see a rise in Christianity throughout the world soon as all of us living see the true way of life through more visable Christians on TV, in our neighborhood or most importantly in our homes!

...by the end of the book does he offer any hope?

Yes, he has several very good suggestions what America can do.

They've taken over Europe without firing a shot.

Basically, that's his point, but that doesn't necessarily mean the modern muslin's will not fight back eventually. There is some small news that modern muslin's no longer are allowing the radicals to move push their ideology freely. The modern muslin's in Bosnia are fighting back by throwing them out of their country.

I use the word "modern" rather than moderate because their are no "moderate" muslin's. They either live in modern times or want to take us back to the 7th century

Texasgirl,

While I certainly would like to see a resurgence in Christian faith in America and around the world, this not only flies in the face of our experiences over the past century, it flies in the face of biblical prophecy which paints a grim picture of faith in the last days.

As far as Joel Osteen, I'd say that he's a prime example of the slick packged for TV brand of religion that encourages people to look good for an hour on Sunday morning and live like everyone else 6 days a week. This is no small problem in my own (Catholic) church as well. I'm not a Mormon, but I will give credit where it is due.

I will remain celibate. What will you do?

Interesting point of view. Have you read Steyn's book? He makes the point that a culture and a society composed of individuals without the will or the spirit to procreate deserves to perish.

Christianity isn't doing enough to defend Europe either. We need all the allies we can get -- agnostics, atheists, wiccans, buddhists, and others who don't have an agenda for taking over government but would rather government just leave people to believe or not believe. That is also where our First Amendment may be a bulwark against Shari'a. We can use it to prevent Muslims from doing to us what they are doing in Europe.

We must stop Mohammedan migration to our homeland. Unfortunately, we have a open-borders President today, who has seen fit to hand out a half million green cards to muslims SINCE 9-11. Worse, all the leading prospects for replacing him in 2009 are also immigration leftists...McCain, Hillary, Giuliani .

Thanks for answering. I have always loved Steyn's writing and wit, but this book's message is so terrifying that I only read 10-15 pages at a time then put it down to process what I've read. I'm still in the "demographics" discussions and can't argue with the fact the numbers don't look good. I look forward to reading about the "modern" Muslims.

When the courts become packed with good little Muzzies appointed by a pc Congress and President and given that a predominant "living document" theory of Constitutional interpretation now exists in our courts, I can easily see where Islam could be imposed on us.

We sure don't need Televangelists tickling folks' ears. What we need are DEFENDERS of the faith who can give Christians the tools to combat Islam, such as David Hocking and Bob Morey.

I look forward to reading about the "modern" Muslims.

That's not Steyns take on it. That's my personal opinion.

I think the word "moderate" when used in conjunction with Muslin's is a misnomer.

There are no "moderate" form of Islam. There are Muslims that want to live in the 21st century and Muslims that want to live in the 7th century.

I will read the book soon.

**Interesting point of view. Have you read Steyn's book? He makes the point that a culture and a society composed of individuals without the will or the spirit to procreate deserves to perish.**

Just when we thought that we were making progress, once again we will raise our children with death on their minds and off many of them will go to early graves. There is no cause for joy in all of life.
