The Blue Blood GOP screwed up in '96 when they allowed Dole to ascend to the nomination instead of Lamar Alexander who would've cleaned ol' bill's clock.
Unfortunately, I think the GOP is in the ABC mode as well...at least that's what they'll put before us at all the fundraisers.
Lamar! wouldn't have cleaned Clintoon's clock. He was, is, and will always be a mediocre RINO with questionable core values. I've known the guy all my life.
About the only person who could've beaten Clintoon in '96 was probably Colin Powell, but he was another RINO squish who probably would've had the Congress back in 'Rat hands 8 years ago.
Dole and Lamar? Talk about Dull and Duller! At least Dole had a sharp tongue that he used to zing his opponents. Too bad he didn't use it in 1996, probably following the advice of some stupid Beltway consultant who told him he'd look mean if he did.
