Rove May Leave Within Weeks
U.S. News & World Report ^ | November 17, 2006

Posted on 11/17/2006 12:00:02 PM PST by West Coast Conservative

The rumors that chief White House political architect Karl Rove will leave sometime next year are being bolstered with new insider reports that his partisan style is a hurdle to President Bush's new push for bipartisanship. A key Bush advisor tells the US News Political Bulletin, "Karl represents the old style and he's got to go if the Democrats are going to believe Bush's talk of getting along." The advisor said a departure might come in "weeks, not months." A Rove ally, however, noted that he has a record of out-witting his critics.

Rove needs to go for the way he cynically used the gay marriage issue to distract conservatives from the Bush administration's amnesty agenda.

I thought they had a plan to handle two Supreme Court nominations, they didn't.

???????????

Roberts and Alito appear to be comfortably on the SC.

Roberts and Alito appear to be comfortably on the SC.

And that is a absolutely fantastic result.

Amazing what can happen without a bit of strategic planning.....

Unless you think Ms. Miers was part of some grand plan.

She might have been, who knows?

But even if she wasn't, you'd still have to give them credit for Roberts and at least partial credit for Alito.

Hey I give full credit to the Administration for making 2 fantastic picks.

My critique for how we got there stands.

Two years ago the ratio of bashbot:bushbot was about 30/70 here (not counting trolls). Bashbots wandered off but are returning.

Bushbots seem to be the distinct minority on FR.

What is the definition of "bashbot"? Never heard that term.

Is it anyone who dares criticize George Bush or his policies?

Exactly even if theres a public show of rove going it only makes it easier for him to be the "architect" of us regaining both the senate the house and the white house.. in fact I'd be disappointed in them not thinking just the same themselves I fully expect Bush to make a "show" of throwing people over the side IE rumsfeld don't fret.. don't be dizzy as the libs... it's "politics" :)

Graduated from Granite School district - possibly Skyline H.S. When Bush was elected, the local news goofs were tripping all over themselves about local Utahn who was working for the President.

My concern is that we are looking at three faces of Mormonism: Carl Rove, Harry Reed (sp), and Mitt Romney. Scary - especially when they begin the appeasement rituals.
