First the smoke-banners have to finish what they started. Buffy Martin, the lobbyist for the American Cancer Society, told the Las Vegas Sun that banning smoking in casinos and in bars that find ways around the ban is "absolutely" on the horizon. Why? Because no one has learned the lesson when Carrie Nation's folly was carried to a national level?

This from Wikipedia:
Some sources indicate that her mother went through periods where she had delusions of being Queen Victoria, and that young Carrie was often tended to in the slave quarters as a result.

Your Carrie Nation reference is impressive. I'm one of her last remaining blood relatives (and a cigar smoking, Irish Whiskey drinking republican).
I'm sure she's spinning in her grave.

Explain to me how booze was outlawed in all 50 states on anything approaching a legal ballot. If it was, I'm impressed.
