"[C]utting down the man who was our best chance to reform the U.N. has nothing to do with the popular will -- and everything to do with [Senator Lincoln] Chafee getting the satisfaction of stabbing President Bush and the GOP one last time."
-- Investors Business Daily, November 13, 2006 --
RINO Senator Lincoln Chafee -- sullen and pouting because the voters in his state just kicked him out of office -- has announced he intends YET AGAIN to block the nomination of John Bolton as our U.N. ambassador.
In fact, the Rhode Island RINO made his intentions known within minutes of President Bush re-nominating Bolton to the important U.N. post. In fact, Chafee won't even allow a fair up-or-down vote on Bolton's nomination on the Senate floor.

Another good example of why the current regime needed to go. I hope conservatives can take back the Republican Party.

C'mon Linc....
Clearing the way and voting for Bolton would really stick it to the woozy-crew moderates in RI who didn't vote for you!

Couldn't they just kick him out of the committee?

Somebody stuff a paci in his mouth to shut him up! Apparently Mr. Chaffee's panties are in a suffocatingly tight wad.
To: Jim 0216
Serious question: is there a good reason they can't just BUMP his pasty white hinder off the committee?

There's got to be some rule that Frist can apply to kick this POS off the committee!

That's gratitude for White House support during his tough primary. Chafee should never have been a senator, and wouldn't have been except for his father's name recognition.

If there's anything lower than what you said, Lincoln Chafee is it. He should be required to return all monies the RNC gave him for his campaign. He accepted it under fraudulent terms...he is NO REPUBLICAN!

Bolton should resign before his term expires and then Bush can give him another recess appointment when Congress adjourns. That will cause the Dems. to throw a real hissy fit.
To: Old Retired Army Guy
Bush can give him another recess appointment when Congress adjourns.I've read on FR that if Bush does that, Bolton would be classified as a non-paid volunteer.
He (Bolton) may not need the salary, but I can't see him staying on in the face of such an insult.
The Chafee situation just sucks!

Bush could do that but a second recess appointment would require that Bolton serve without pay. That's asking alot.

Bush can appoint him to a NEW job with a recess appointment, such as Deputy Ambassador to the UN. Then Bush appoints NO ONE to the Ambassador job. Bolton gets paid, and Bolton stays in the UN.
It would drive the Dems nuts. And it's perfectly legal.

Bolton is pretty much gone so hopefully to avoid any further Senatorial misconduct on up or down votes, the first congressional recess after the new congress takes office President Bush should go straight for the recess appointee with someone like Ann Coulter.
