Well ya actually it could. Poppy Bush could declare he wants to make a political comeback.
More complicity by the incompetent UN?
I'm so sorry this happened. You were doing a fabulous job. Perhaps it's time for you to move to the Pentagon? ;*)
I frankly believe we were never in power after we captured the Senate.
Or Snarlen Arlen.
Good luck to him.
Yep. The biggest issue this year was Congress itself and incumbancy, Iraq was up there, but it wasn't the most vitally important item on everyone's kitchen table.
I think the article by Dick Morris made a lot of sense about this issue. The Senate problems were a little different than the House. In the Senate, I think that you need leaders that know a little more "inside baseball" if you will rather than in the House where you have the agenda setters for legislation.. Frist just got bullied around like a little puppy day after day.. I think if this move is followed by Pence becoming Minority leader in the House the Republican party will have done more for the Conservative cause on Capitol Hill than it has in a long, long time.
"and being the sneaky kind of person we need at this time."
You nailed it. Nice to see some REAL honesty around here!
You are right about Soros. He ramped up the emotion and caused the right to blindly eat it's own, in spite of the fact that election damage was occurring.
I don't know if that was intended, or simply a byproduct. Both sides engaged in a degree of self loathing, but Conservatives took the prize. It continued right through the voting, and continues today and will tomorrow.
When it stops, is when we will once again have a chance to repair the coalition and win some elections, but i don't see this happening soon.
I'm thinking 2012 will be the first chance we have. If then....
It's going to take some time to realign the base. In the interim, there will likely be a third party split, and maybe a fourth, before sense replaces nonsense....The party will not be the same, ever again, in any case.
Oh he's never really left. Clinton was much like him minus interns of course and Junior has made certain all Poppy's old friends have found work.
I'm not crazy about Lott, but the rumor is that Rick Santorum was the deciding vote for Lott.
I'm not going to armchair quarterback from way out here. I don't know the inner workings of who would be best for the job. If Santorum thinks he'll be OK, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Trent Lott to House Impeachment Managers: You're not going to dump this garbage on us
Lott is pathetic. Say what you want about Bob Dole but even he never became the kind doormat that Trent was. Tom Daschle was able to repeatedly outflank him on one piece of legislation after another.
Paul Weyrich even published an open letter telling Lott that Daschle had proven himself to be the true Majority Leader of the Senate.
Miss Marple I concur.
".....and being the sneaky kind of person we need at this time."
Ahhh. A glimmer of hope. Lott IS sneaky and will be intent upon success to rehabilitate his reputation.
I agree with Mo1 and Just A Nobody that congress lacked support, not President Bush. Let's hope Lott doesn't perceive success as backstabbing the administration.
And they wonder why people are leaving the party. Lott = loser!!!
So Chester the singing Barber is back...they don't call our party the stupid party for nothing.
It's Chester....sheesh he will sell out McConnell at the first drop of his barbershop quartet straw hat.
......and your choice is.........?
Jeff Sessions.
Yea likely one of the toughest articles he had to write. As I think he once said he and Trent were good friends. Weyrich was one of the major reasons we even had a GOP takeover too.
