Please explain to me if you can. Why do those of your persuasion, what ever that persuasion may be, assume that standing in defense of the helpless unborn, is ruled by one's religious convictions alone, rather than human nature to stand up for any helpless creature that is being abused. And why does it matter to you , what drives people to defend the powerless?
No one is beyond the reach of God, but who can be expected to believe a politician who reverses everything he has stood by until it becomes politically proper to do so?

I'll try. First of all I am not in favor of abortion. I am not a big fan of gay rights although they are, after all Americans, and entitled to the same rights as straights. And if divorce and broken marriages disqualified candidates, virtually none of the politicians would be qualified for much except running for dog catcher.
My point is this. I am a single minded voter. I want a strong president who will take it to the Islamonazis and whip them until the last one is dead or under the jail. I want the toughest SOB out there who will take no prisoners and will do whatever is required to win this war on our way of life. I believe that Rudy is that man. I have nothing in particular against the other candidates except it has been winnowed down to McCain, Romney and Giuliani. McCain is already 70 years old and distrusted in conservative circles. Romney is a Mormon and do not discount that as an albatross around his neck. A lot of Christians do not even consider them fellow Christians.
We have no idea who he will appoint to the Supreme Court if he is elected. We thought we had a conservative when the likes of David Souter was nominated. In fact most of the liberal judges who have promoted or protected abortion have been appointed by Republican/conservative presidents.
And furthermore, Rudy was running in a state with a 5 to 1 Democratic advantage over the Republicans. How do you think Republicans win those elections. They lie!! That's what is necessary in many cases in order to win elections. FDR stood before the American people in 1940 and lied through his teeth that we wouldn't be entering WWII although he had ALREADY made up his mind we would.
I just take a measure of the man. I like his infectious grin, his straightforwardness, his ability to make decisions, his proven record in New York City. Do we really want a proven socialist in the form of Hillary Clinton and her scumbag husband back in the White House?
In my book, that decision is a no-brainer. I know who I am voting for in 2008 and it won't be Hillary Clinton who apparently is the preference of a goodly number of people here. Because if they stay at home or cast their vote for a third party candidate they are surely voting for Hillary Clinton. This is cutting off their nose to spite their face.
I'm 63 years old and have followed politics since 1948 and I have yet to see the perfect candidate. If we wait for that saint to come along, we're likely to wait a good long time.
Everyone should make their own choice on election day. If they would rather have Hillary Clinton take the oath of office on January 20, 2009, then bash and trash Giuliani. That's your right, but don't bellyache when she comes for your guns, and puts all of the rest of her socialistic programs into place. If you want France in the United States, she's your "man."
