In fact,I've read that his move to Florida was done to take advantage of a quirk in Florida law that makes it much more difficult for the estates to collect anything from him.



Remember he owes $$$,$$$ to DirecTV from his satellite piracy conviction a few years back when he was caught with bootloaders and an unlooper. That decision may be harder to avoid as the crime occurred in Florida.

I'm not sure that that's correct.I believe (although I surely could be wrong) that the Florida law that makes scofflaws like OJ want to move there is connected to their "homestead" laws.I think their homestead law allows you to "protect" from creditors some huge chunk (or even an unlimited amount) of equity that you have in your "homestead" residence.

If,by chance,I'm correct that could mean that Direct TV will be as successful in collecting from OJ as have been the estates of Ron and Nicole.At least as long as he remains in FL.
