...desire to force the people of this country to live under any particular codification of religious dogma.
Is abortion "religious dogma" when one is against it, Mr. Boortz, but not when one is promoting it?
Roe v. Wade, Doe v. Bolton, the laws that force taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood, etc., are all "codification of religious dogma." Not Christian religious dogma, but religious dogma nonetheless.
Webster's:
Religion:
set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe; something a person believes in and follows devotedly.Dogma:
a system of principles or tenets; a specific tenet or doctrine authoritatively put forth; prescribed doctrine; an established belief or principle.
To conclude that
1) because you are not an openly religious person ("I feel that religion is a very personal issue and I sincerely try not to push my beliefs on others"); and
2) you see nothing wrong with abortion and
3) therefore your position on abortion is not religious dogma is
false, erroneous, and frankly not logical. I pray you will reexamine your position.
From your bio page, Mr. Boortz:
Imagine what a wonderful world we would have if everyone just tried to live their own lives according to their religious principals and spent a bit let [sic] time trying to tell other folks how to live theirs.
Abortion goes way beyond "telling other folks how to live their lives."
Abortion says, "you're life isn't worth squat to us, and we can prove it."
You bet! Excellent post.
Exactly... it is a return to the pagan ritual sacrifice of virgins... Boortz and his ilk can go take a walk off a short pier... I won't enable their filth to get into seats of political power...
