The Washington Post wrote dozens of articles smearing Senator Allen over the "Macacca" comment but seemed unable to predict that Murtha intended to be rewarded with political power for his "cut and run" policy.

Now, they are shocked to discover a corrupt, venal and self-serving man is about to be the House Majority Leader.

Their partisan juices and desire to the Bush Administration produced the "Murtha Syndrome" of corruption and venality. Now we have to live with it, but perhaps not for as long as the Washington Post would wish.

Makes you wonder why the Post and other MSM didn't weigh in like this when the campaign was on. Is the man fit to serve in Congress?

Oh, that's right, he's a Democrat.

It's very simple - the extreme left got what they wanted out of Murtha (i.e. the defeat of Bush at the ballot box last week), and now they're throwing him over the side. He has served his purpose. The Compost is merely doing their duty as serving as the mouthpiece for the hard left.

Personally, I think it couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy.

I see. To Democrats, Tom DeLay was a corrupt Majority Leader, who had to be driven from his post and eventually his seat.

But not Jack Murtha.
