As an aside, Dad wore these, and thought you guys were nuts:
"Anyone who'd jump out of a good-running airplane has *got* to have a screw loose!"
;-P
He flew Caribou, just before the Army gave them to the Air Force, among other aircraft.

I got my Canadian jump wings while training with Canada's paratroopers in 1979.
We jumped Caribou's into a farmers pasture. Lots of fun jumping 'tailgate'!

Yeah, the Caribou is a good jump platform. We used to jump out of them routinely at Benning and Eglin. Incidentally, the Air Force and Army will be back in the twin engine high wing tactical STOL business again with the Joint Cargo Aircraft.

The C27J, C295 and C235 are the leading contenders.
