Balance of the SUPREME COURT is also at stake in the next election and I truly believe Rudy will appoint conservative Judges. He will not have a pro baby killing litmis test.
Come on! The guy gushes about how "great" a SCOTUS justice Ginsberg is. What makes you think that Rudy, a social liberal, is going to appoint a Scalia-type social conservative to the Supreme Court? If think you've got a promise from him, think it through again and parse his words with EXTREME caution. Rudy is, after all, an excellent lawyer.
The president is also commander in chief of the armed forces. That isn't a state issue. But the president could decide, as Clinton tried to do in 1992, that homosexual behavior ought to be embraced and regularized in the armed forces. With Democrats in charge of the House and Senate, a pro-gay Republican president could easily get done what Clinton could not.
Then there's federal hate crime legislation. That's not a state issue either. Do you really want a zealous ex-prosecutor in the White House who has a passion for gay rights?
Rudy could do enormous damage to this country by implementing a socially liberal agenda solely within the areas of responsibility committed to him under the Constitution.
