But several members are privately aghast that Mr. Murtha, a pork-barreling opponent of most House ethics reforms, could become the second most visible symbol of the new Democratic rule. "We are supposed to change business as usual, not put the fox in charge of the henhouse," one Democratic member told me. "It's not just the Abscam scandal of the 1980s that he barely dodged, he's a disaster waiting to happen because of his current behavior," another told me.
Democrats "aghast"? The same ones who still pine after the Clinton "most ethical administration" years??

Doesn't Nancy Pelosi come from some Mafia family? So, she and Murtha must be soul mates.....

Ms. Pelosi"s endorsement of Rep. Murtha, one of the most unethical members of Congress, show that she may have prioritized ethics reform merely to win votes with no real commitment to changing the culture of corruption."

Gee, no kidding. They are the culture of corruption.
The American people are about to see what they voted into Congress

Rep. Jim Moran, a top Murtha ally, told the Hill, a congressional newspaper. "We are entering an era where when the speaker instructs you what to do, you do it."Imagine this creature in the WH?

LOL...I was on another thread this evening, that was about Mel Martinez...and we were debating whether he will be a good RNC Chairman.
I posted that I am thinking that after 2 years of impeachment hearings...and the kind of crapola that the dems are gonna pull (which they have already started in the Senate)....conservatives and Republicans will be bombarding the voting booths in 2008!!!

According to Pelosi - "The American people voted to restore integrity and honesty in Washington, D.C., and the Democrats intend to lead the most honest, most open and most ethical Congress in history,"
Yep, uh huh, that Nancy is such a kidder.
