Saudi students studying in the US have achieved a record figure as their number has reached 11,000 after several years that witnessed a drop in their numbers following the September 11 attacks, Asharq Al-Awsat, the London-based Arabic-language daily reported Sunday.
These include 1,653 Saudi girls who got scholarships to study in America.

These include 1,653 Saudi girls who got scholarships to study in America. So ten times more males than females get these scholarships?
Does EEOC know about this? Aren't universities risking their federal funding?

Mazyad Ibrahim Al-Mazyad, the Saudi Cultural Attaché said 10,936 Saudi students have been registered in 733 education institutions throughout the United States. He said 3,000 other Saudi students are expected to arrive in the new semester. This means their number will reach 14,000 students. Virginia occupies the fourth position after California, Florida and Colorado as a favored destination for Saudi students seeking study at US universities. There are 736 Saudi students at universities in the state of Virginia.

The scholarships are given out by the Saudis, I believe.

Believe it! Just watch them hi-fiving each other at the next successful terrorist attack like many Muslim students did on 9/11. You can't stop a country from committing suicide.

To the best of my knowledge, Saudi Arabia is still an ally and major trading partner of the U.S., not to mention investor in real estate and media.

Better your knowledge.

They were, but they weren't official representatives of the Saudi government. They were covert representatives of the Saudi government?
To: libertylovinactivist
I don't care how carefully these "students" are "vetted", all it takes is for a few of these Wahabi wunderkinder to get that "old time religion", and we're in a heap of trouble. Should have ended this practice right after 9/11. There are a lot of good French and German schools that would be more than happy to accept Saudi Riyals. We can't spare 12,000 FBI agents to watch these clowns.
