Lib Blog: Jack Murtha has the votes (For Majority Leader)
MyDD ^ | November 14, 2006 | Jerome Armstrong

I've heard from a couple of different Hill sources that Murtha is ahead; that newly elected Democrats favor Hoyer by a 2:1 margin, but that Murtha is ahead by about 25 votes overall, which has come about from the standing members after Nancy Pelosi's letter. The vote is Thursday.

-If Bush wanted to stand up to the DemoRats (yeah, like that'd happen!) he'd order the Intelligence Services to deny Hastings all classifed materials on the basis that he's a known security risk who accepted bribes. Then let the Rats either knuckle under or defend Hastings.--

Ashcroft might have done something. Gonzales is a wimp.

Unfortunately for us, but fortunately for America, the guy is wrong.

I'm thinking Hoyer by 13 votes.

I read this item about Abramoff. It seems that the MSM can't make up its mind if he has dirt on BUSH/ROVE or 6-8 corrupt US Senators. There is also conflicting reports about where he will be incarcerated for continuing questioning in the short term, Florida or a closet in DC. I don't think we can count on much from Abramoff in the short term except trying to get special treatment from the Justice Department. He is apparently very good at that. Ask any US Congressman and Senator.

"I hope Hastings gets the call at intelligence.....this Democratic majority is begining to look like a giant pinata.

We may score good political points from it, but the damage to our nation is just too much. Intelligence Chairman hears our nation's most closely guarded secrets."

Agree, especially when one considers Rockefeller (how's the investigation on his leaking going??) is now the Chair of the Senate Intel Committe

If they have anything on him regarding leak investigations or his prewar visit to Syria, it will hit the fan AFTER he has been installed as chairman.

""I hope Hastings gets the call at intelligence"

I am inclined to agree with you. However I have had an opportunity to hear A.C. Hasting speak and as a result, something has occurred to me. Don't you have to actually "have Intelligence" in order to be on the Intelligence Committee?

Isn't it amazing how the MSM is all over the Pubbies BEFORE the election, but now the WAcomPOST (all macaca all the time) is now 'suddenly' realizing that Murtha has *issues* in is background. It will be interesting to see what, if anything, they say about Rocky, and others when and if the truth comes out; and, what their fellow congresscritters do.
