Oyvey. I'm a practicing Catholic Bandita. I'm also pro life, pro death penalty in certain cases and a an Army veteran. Catholic dogma does not demand that one be anti death penalty but it does demand that we protect innocent human life as best we can.
Or as Aquinas said, and I parphrase, not protecting ones life or the life of the innocent by force is in itself a sin.
I was about to deconstruct that, but I could not improve on your effort.
Which is logically consistent because rests on underlying morality that distinguishes between in the helpless and most innocent, and the the most heinous and guilty.
Twisted and vile liberal dogma, on the other hand, supports the arbitrary and brutal slaughter of the most helpless and innocent while sparing no expense in defending the most heinous and guilty from a quick and painless judgment.
Catholic here as well, and I support the death penalty. The critical distinction is the taking of an innocent life v. the forfeiture of life by a person who acted in a heinous fashion.
I happen to support war as well, provided it's justified. I understand and respect pacifists, but I also believe that their position is the height of naivete.
