Yes, my dream first choice too, but it's not going to happen. Webb may be half-crazy at times, but he's not stupid, and he knows his life (and probably those of his family) wouldn't be worth a plug nickel if he did that.

Brutal reality. There is no honor in the arena of the power crazed. Murtha served his purpose and Nancy discarded him faster than they abandoned Kerry.

Murtha was turned down twice for general, I read. He's nothing more nor less than a disgruntled employee.

And who can disagree with the judgement of the USMC in that case?

Like I said in one of my post a few days ago. The last remnants of sanity in Washington D.C. will now be gone when the Democrats take over in January.

I think Murtha was enlisted and thus never up for general.

Hard to believe that Hillary was once a "Goldwater Girl" isn't it?

That's her story. Is there independent verification? Cynical minds want to know.

That statement was a surprise to me also and if true there is no doubt they could choose worse.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) questioned soon-to-be House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's, D-Calif., commitment to eradicating corruption with her endorsement of one of the most unethical members in Congress, Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., to be majority meader of the House of Representatives.

Murtha was listed in CREW's report, "Beyond DeLay: The 20 Most Corrupt Members of Congress (and five to watch)." As reported in the study and by the news media, Murtha has been involved in a number of pay-to-play schemes involving former staffers and his brother, Robert "Kit" Murtha.

Eight incumbents in CREW's report lost their races because of ethics issues.

"Future House Speaker Pelosi's endorsement of Rep. Murtha, one of the most unethical members of Congress, shows that she may have prioritized ethics reform merely to win votes with no real commitment to changing the culture of corruption," Melanie Sloan, executive director of CREW said Monday. "How can Americans believe that the Democrats will return integrity to the House when future Speaker Pelosi has endorsed an ethically-challenged member for a leadership position? Rep. Murtha is the wrong choice for this job."

Pretty bad for "the Muth" when CREW goes ya..would be like a man without a country..as CREW is funded by the Open Society-Soros. That's the real story here. CREW makes a turn-a-round?

Let em kill themselves. Murtha will look like an idiot in interviews and is very likely to make huge blunders.

What's scary here is that Pelosi's true colors are coming out and the newby moderates hopefully have the guts to be their own people. Hopefully she'll lose a few battles and come back to reality that the far left didn't win the elections, moderates did.

I feel the same way! Give me Murtha, Hastings, Conyers, Reid, Menendez, etc.

Let those who voted for the democrats because they wanted "change" have their change. Let those who wanted to teach the republicans a lesson by staying home and not voting, get what they voted for by omission.

It's all good for us for 2008!

You know...that old coot just might go postal on them, if he ever gets enough smarts about him to figure out Nancy played him like a player piano!

Do any of these Democrap idiots realize how stupid they sound trying to convince the public that being "swift-boated" is somehow wrong?

Being Swift-boated is to have the real truth expose you for the lying scumbag you truly are!
