well if the senate can make up their own rules, then republicans have how many votes, and the rat patrol has how many votes...then to equal those two parties, doesn't the independents have to have equal amounts also??? If no, then the independents have no say....they are neither Republican nor rat patrol....so I would say the senate belongs to the Republicans....
Then the Senate would be 50/50, with Cheney casting the tie-breaking vote if necessary. The GOP would have effective control of the Senate, but would as a matter of courtesy split chairmanships and committee control with the Dems.
If a press conference gets rough, he can use it to ward off the hostiles (like using a cross to repel vampires).
Why am I not surprised that no one in the media recognized the United States Constitution.
Read-Me-My-Rights of Nevada, Mendacious of Joisey, and La-heh-heh of Vermont should be arrested and prosecuted for their magnificent malfeances! Result---No Dimajority!
Then they felt it's beams searing into their black hearts. Writhing and moaning... fear and panic ensued as terrified they fought one another in the struggle to escape.
"How can the Democrats claim that they've got a majority if two of them were not elected as Democrats?" countered WND.
What a dumbass question. If you caucus with the Democrats you are functionally a Democrat even if you run as a Green, an Indepenent, or even a Monarchist.
That is the best line I've heard all week!
If Lieberman jumsps to the Republicans Chaffee will jump to the democraps.

Maybe you are not familar with Les Kinsolving? He has been asking questions like this to the White House for years. But he is a good guy in my book for this reason:
Matt Drudge, The Drudge Report:
"Les Kinsolving, the Baltimore radio talk show host known for being the pitbull of the White House press corps, was chastized Friday afternoon by Presidential spokesman Joe Lockhart, for bringing up the name of Juanita Broaddrick- the Arkansas woman who accused the President of a 1978 rape."
doesn't matter, Chafee is gone in January.
The Constitution and the press?! That's like holding up a crucifix to Dracula.
I'm surprised Helen Thomas and a few others didn't burst into flames.
Nevertheless, the question itself reveals a startling lack of knowledge and understanding about the operations of the two-party system within Congress. If I'm earning a living as a political reporter, this should be common knowledge. Otherwise, I'm just a loud-mouthed rabble-rouser wasting everyone's time.
It is much the same as Bab's lunatic rantings about checks and balances when one party holds the majority in both the Legislative and Executive branches. Party affiliation has nothing to do with the system of checks and balances as crafted within the Constitution.
Very funny.
Reminds me of when Reagan brought in the entire tax code as a prop.
Now I see why the WH backed Lieberman
His support of the war is critical
Thanks Joe from all the GOP who voted for you
Can't believe all the posters here who fell for this phoney's BS
You must not be familiar with Mr. Kinsolving. I'm pretty sure that if you were to watch this exchange on C-SPAN, his fellow reporters were poking fun at him.
Said "reporter" (Lester Kinsolving) ain't no journalist. He's a crazed talk show wingnut out of Baltimore. As wild as a barn cat and crazy as a s%#thouse rat ...
I read the constitution, and it says that there has to be more of one than another, didn't say how many more...so I am guessing that like Republicans 50/ rat patrol 49 and 2 independents....I don't know how many there are of which party anymore, and didn't drunk kennedy say something about it takes 50 to do a fillibuster????
If I don't make sense, please forgive me, I'm still coming out of shock from last tuesday....
