Nice job outing yourself as a bigot who assumes 'minorities' think a certain way.
Jesse (Jackson)? Al (Shapton)? Which race baiter are you?
The fact is that Hispanics and any other group will only come to the Republican party when they agree with the party's goals and philosophies. That doesn't mean there cannot be outreach and efforts specifically aimed at minorities, or better said, groups that are scarce within the party. You can read that as college students as much as minorities if you like because there seems to be a lack of both within the Republican party.
But you're one of those people who calls anyone a bigot for mentioning the word minority in a collective sense. No discretion, no critical thinking on your part, you're the arbiter of bigotness and you've made your call. Foolish.
I'm stating a fact that continues to be proven over and over: minorities do not suddenly switch over to supporting Republicans because the candidate or nominee is a minority and, more specifically, the same minority as they are. I gave two concrete examples: Michael Steele who was attacked by black leaders and whose white opponent received more black votes, and Miguel Estrada who was attacked by white Senators with impunity as far as Hispanics are concerned because I know of no effort by any Hispanic group to go after these Senators or the Democrat party.
Now, what do these men have in common? Both are Republican. What can you conclude? The minorities in question, blacks in Steele's case and Hispanics in Estrada's case, did not care a whit that Steele and Estrada are minorities. They saw only Republicans and that was enough for them to not support both men. Hardly a bigoted observation to say that party trumps race and ethnicity. Try thinking next time.
