Other schools and Islamic authorities down through the years have been asked to rule on the issue and it's been pretty uniformly decided that Moslems can live in the US whether we like it or not. Living in a non-Islamic country is one thing, swearing allegiance to it is something else.
Swearing allegiance is a form of giving your word. Muslims are permitted to break their word to non-Muslims, if that will advance the cause of Islam.
