When will the NCAA "realize" that the Dakota part of North Dakota refers to Indians and will thus have to be eliminated in order to respect the Indians?
We can never truly respect the Indians until we have eliminated any reference to or memory of them. < /sarcasm which goes to 11>

One difference being that the people didn't call themselves Sioux, their enemies did. They were the Dakota or Lakota people. But of course that wouldn't matter to the NCAA either. They have a problem with the Seminoles. The tribe by that name at least called itself that, AFAIK, and similarly approves of the name being used by the school's teams.
