First of all I do realize the death of these children is horrible for anyone involved but the number of deaths is 12 and to me is not that significant compared the potential of lives saved because of the drug.
If memory serves me correctly Japan has a fairly high rate of suicide. I also wonder what are the ages of these children. Are they children or older teens where suicide could be a possibility? Again I am not dismissing the deaths of these children.

BL,
the Networks tried to turn a shortage of Tamiflu into a Bush Administration scandal two years ago if you will recall. The media was advocating that "every" American should have access to this drug because it was "so effective" and tried to make it Bush's fault. Of course the actual problem is no US Firms want to make anti-viral agents for the influenza due to the extreme exposure to liability and the fact they have to make so much whether it flies off the shelf or justs sits there.
What if the Bush Adminstration HAD magically found enough manufacturers to make a large supply of the drug, and suggested to everybody they get vaccinated with the stuff. What would the media be saying about the Administration now if they had done what the media wanted?
