I don't agree with Martinez's politics at all and think the choice is not a smart one.
However, I must correct you, he's not an immigrant, he's a political exile. There is a glaring distinction between the two. He didn't come to this country to do the 'jobs Americans won't do'. He didn't come to this country to send money to relatives back home. He's not an economic migrant.
He came to this country in order to avoid becoming a minion in Stalinist Cuba.
Again, that being said, he was chosen to court the Latino vote in 2008 which is not a bright move. Appeasement stunts like this will not work, Mexicans and other 'Latinos' (with the sole exception of Cubans) will continue to vote Democrat.

True. And while many deserve to lose; their loss equals a Dem gain. And the damage these leftest dogs can do to what's left of the nation may be irreparable. The Republicans seem to have eagerly castrated themselves. The way things are going it doesn't seem like there is much left to work with.

Just a synopsis please The IRS agent trying to prosecute the local drug gang found his efforts blocked by Asa. If Hutchinson personally profitted, then it would be a criminal act. If it was done to prevent lower-level gang members from implicating those higher up, including convicted drug dealer Dan Lasater, chicken tycoon Don Tyson, and then-Arkansas governor William Jefferson Clinton, then it's more political.
one page synopsis *here*.

"one page synopsis *here*."
One page?.....it was like the toilet paper that would never quit. But do you think that anyone really cares? It only matters when power is involved, and someone is going up for a position. Then people care.
My gosh man, don't you realize the Britney and Federline have broken up? And you bring out this drivel????

There are probably more Hispanic votes in this country than Black votes. If not now, in the near future. I don't think the RNC Chair selection will have as much impact on courting Hispanic voters as will immigration policy. In fact, immigration policy will be the only driver for courting the Hispanic vote.
So, how does one keep or grow the African-American vote while also pursuing immigration policy? I would have thought that putting an African-American into the RCN chair would be the way to go.

It would have been a much better choice...Living in Florida I canot stand Martinez nor will I vote for him.....The RNC does not get it at all....They can pander to the hispanice vote and lose the conservatives....

I spent the last 2 years writing, calling, E mailing Faxing
on so many issues. They all fell on Deaf Ears. I am exhausted, & demoralized. Michael Steele would have been perfect & this decision came down to GW Bush ALONE~!
I always get nasty replys when I criticize Bush but, I am fed up.
I can't watch any of the News (its all bad for the GOP) and I can only come here about once a week. I have never been this depressed after any election. Not so much because we lost. More because of how the GOP plan for 2008 seems to be HAND THE DEMS another VICTORY. Its all so hard to take.

Don't hold your breath.
Its becoming apparent to me that Bush intends to take the party left of center. I'm sick about it.

"Is the GOP trying to self-destruct?"
Yep and GW Bush is the man with his finger on the fatal shot. (sigh)
To: RNO1
The point is, if the GOP panders to the Hispanic vote they think they don't need the conservatives.
Sadly, Hispanics will never go GOP they know its the Democrats who will use tax money to fund entitlement programs for "Guest Workers"
The GOP is void of ANY Leadership & Bush is looking more and more like a back stabber as the days go on.
I can't take much more.
To: FarRightFanatic
It really is true what is said about the GOP--we really are the STUPID party. There is no way we can be even competitive in '08 with bland and boring Mel Martinez running the show.
Am I the only one who feels like they have entered the twilight zone??? The election results, Rumsfeld out, our enemies celebrating, plans to elect the same leadership in the House, now Martinez in....what has happened? Did I wake up in some parallel universe?
FARRIGHT:::: I agree with you completely.
To: Cindy_Cin
He sure has taken this party down a risky road....I think the attitude is they do not need conservatives or so they think. I cannot stand Martinez...He is a open border advocate...
