Yes it does. I just hope that Bush won't think that the 2/3 that sat home were sitting home just to send a message of some sort. That is what they USUALLY do in the mid-terms. It was nothing out of the ordinary!!!!! The only thing that would have gotten them out to the polls was another attack on our soil. That would have sunk the RATS big time.
Large numbers of people usually don't make an effort to vote in the mid-terms unless they are dissatisfied and really ARE trying to change things. That is the message I hope Bush gets, because it's the right one as far as I'm concerned.
Well, that's a matter of perception. The #s released yesterday showed that GOP turnout was lower than usual (say, 2002). On the other hand, Dem turnout was higher, esp. in OH, WY, VA, and RI, which gave them the senate seats.
