Reason Magazine Blogger Finds Pleasure in Tears of Rick Santorum's 8-year-old Daughter
Because the libertarian universe has no place for the vulnerable, weak, or the dependent--since none are autonomous adult-choosers in search of virtual kiddie porn--it has no qualms in providing a forum in which children and their families can be verbally abused and have profanities hurled at them. Read and weep Julian Sanchez's "Your Tears Are So Yummy and Sweet" in which the writer says he finds joy in the tears of Rick Santorum's eight-year-old daughter, who is pictured crying next to her father as he gives his concession speech on Tuesday night, November 7. Most of the comments that follow celebrate and contribute to Mr. Sanchez's meanness. In fact, one commentator, named Jon H., makes sarcastic reference to the Santorums' newborn child who died in 1996. ~ Posted by Francis J. Beckwith at 11:25 PM

Man, I haven't taken this much pleasure in the suffering of a small child in days.

That's the point the ordoliberals made 100 years ago (so called because they usually published in the German intellectual journal Ordo ["Order"]). They insisted that markets needed to be regulated by a strong police power. The economic liberals, libertarians and Randites/Objectivists would insist, OTOH, that interest-driven rationalists would be incorruptible and wouldn't need such heavy-handed "help" in keeping the markets clean and functional.
I think the latter have been refuted, at least for this generation, by the examples offered by Michael Milken, Ken Lay, and any number of no-doubt rational peculators, defalcators, and chiselers.
Very disturbing.
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20
Just like we commented on another thread about Bolton and Rumsfeld...Santorum is hated because he is a good, decent man!
Hey, I am glad you pinged me.

That works for me as long as there is not much left!!! Then all that will be required is a general scraping. LOL

If he thinks Santorum was preventing his access to porno he could always move to Vegas...or Amsterdam.
I keep thinking I've come up with something original and you all keep knocking me back down! lol
I've come to my positions through endless debate with my closest friends who include a few with leanings in just about every direction you could think of.
What a nice person. In his case abortion should be retroactive.
Isn't Baylor a Baptist college? What's up with this, for Pete's sake?

Nancee, did You check out post 70? Unbelievable! He truly is a pervert of the lowest degree. Glad we have found an adequate solution to cure the pervert!! :-)
Wrong. A man w/o compassion is simply a man w/o compassion. Learn what the word libertarian means before you denigrate it.
"Man is corrupt by nature"
Man is definitely not corrupt by nature. There is no truth to this statemnet whatsoever. Man is simply a rational agent with Free will.
A lot of people on FR felt sorry for Chelsea Clinton's shame and insecurity over her father's hateful, disloyal and disgusting betrayal of her and her (albeit ravenously ambitious) mother. Actually, I think a lot of DU trolls like to come over to FR and play both sides against the middle, making obscene, nasty comments about anyone and everyone's family and the horse they rode in on. - My guess that the first time Sanchez has to pay $5.00 for a gallon of gasoline because of the Democrat/Al Quaeda approved Middle East game-playing, he will blubber all the way to the ATM and back.
OK, now I can go watch the Broncos and see if they can mount a comeback!
Conservatives face reality and want their kids to grow up knowing about victory and defeat in the face of a hard fought battle. Santorum's speech "The Gathering Storm" is the speech of the decade, and maybe the century for those who face reality. - What did he have to gain politically by having his family stand together in the face of defeat? - Answer: nothing but self-respect. I doubt Santorum whines much about people talking about his little girl. He wants to raise a woman, not a FEMINIST FAKER.
For those who don't like reality, "It Takes A Village", the book of the nono-second, and other forgettable Hillary Clinton speeches come to mind. Pablum pap.
I will let him know what I think!

Keep telling yourself that.
Of course, in a moral relativist framework you're right. As I believe in a higher law, you and I will have to be at loggerheads.
INDEED!! Now I'll go and check out post 70, if you really think it will help me!
