Demoralization and the picture of defeat is part of the Democrat plan. Democrats don't want a US that acts unilaterally or with a few allies outside of the UN framework (endless talks - no action). Democrats don't want a muscular US foreign policy. Democrats don't want a US superpower. The weakening of the US will make it a "better" player in the world community and subservient to the UN, the World Court and endless international tribunals. That is the goal of the Democrats.
