I've come to the thread very late but I was struck by your posts about Limbaugh. I do not agree with you at all about Limbaugh vrs MJ Fox.
Before Limbaugh commented on the Fox commercial the cloning bill was ahead 70-30. After Rush got into the picture and let it be known what the bill was actually the numbers dropped dramatically. Cloning still won but 51-49. Little consolation, but hardly Rush's fault. Tammy Duckworth had MJ Fox campaign for her and she lost. Is that MJ Fox's fault?
Talent lost because Talent didn't didn't run a good enough campaign and didn't get enough people out to vote.

I think perhaps the archdiocese of St. Joseph and Kansas City had a little bit to do about the turnaround. I first heard about the amendment on EWTN, not from Rush. Many of the Catholic activists were all over this.
Ask yourself this: if the amendment was a sure thing, why did Fox make the commercial?
Well, you can think what you want. I heard from too many acquaintences and relatives who are moderates to think that Rush's performance helped. I can't convince anyone who thinks otherwise, I am sure. I only speak for myself, and I know what effect it had among people I know.
