A.Hun, the problem is that our "majority" party did NOT know how to govern like a MAJORITY PARTY! The Rinos in the Senate have more than their fair share of the blame!
LLS
With Senate rules and people like McCain and Graham we weren't a "majority party." We barely held a plurality. And a lot of that is the fault of the White House for trying to play the game pretending that the other guys a good and decent people who will play fair. It's time for the Chicago way!
Malone: You said you wanted to get Capone. Do you really wanna get him? You see what I'm saying is, what are you prepared to do?
Ness: Anything and everything in my power.
Malone: And *then* what are you prepared to do? If you open the can on these worms you must be prepared to go all the way because they're not gonna give up the fight until one of you is dead.
Ness: How do you do it then?
Malone: You wanna know how you do it? Here's how, they pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way, and that's how you get Capone! Now do you want to do that? Are you ready to do that?
Ness: I have sworn to capture this man with all legal powers at my disposal and I will do so.
Malone: Well, the Lord hates a coward. Do you know what a blood oath is, Mr. Ness?
Ness: Yes. Malone: Good, 'cause you just took one.
We have to apply that to what we're doing in Iraq and to how we deal with domestic enemies, as well. McCain should have had his committee seats taken away when he betrayed his party leadership. So should all of the Republicans in the gang of 14. Every press availability by Frist should have started with questions to the media about why they weren't covering some Dhimmicrat scandal, such as Ried's involvement with Abramoff. Every time Denny Hastert or John Boehner talked to the press he should have asked about the stalling tactics surrounding William Jefferson and the lack of media scrutiny. It's how the Dhimmicrats have been operating for six years. Our playing nice with them was unilateral disarmament.
And the really sad thing is that people like Talent, Allen and Santorum paid the price for the actions of McCain, Graham and Specter.
