The majority of Americans just rejected strong border enforcement and sending illegals home asap.

Just ask JD. He couldn't win on that platform in Arizona.

The rhetoric over the border is now over. The Dems call the shots from now on. GWB's border plan will become the conservative one.

That is the Dhimmicrat / DBM spin.  Don't buy it.  Not only is JD still in the race (though it's a long shot) but his opponent was rhetorically just as tough on border enforcement.  And on top of that several voter initiatives (state constitutional amendments?) passed that were very tough on illegal immigration, including requiring english for all government functions, denying benefits to illegals, etc.

If JD goes down it will most likely be from being tainted in the Abramoff scandal.  I've posted details of this elsewhere on this thread and I think the charges are bogus, but the DBM has labeled him one of the members of the Republican culture of corruption.

Fair enough phsstpok, but I still believe the border issue is now dead.

I'm aware of his Abramoff ties, but he was such a vocal supporter of tough border enforcement, his (possible) loss is still a message.

I understand his opponent supported comprehensive border reform that supposedly is no solution, to the disconcerted border bots here.
