In September of 1995 under Clinton, U.S. agents helped snatch Talaat Fouad Qassem, one of Egypts most wanted terrorists, in Croatia. Qassem, having been sentenced to death in absentia, fled to Europe after he was linked by Egyptians to the assassination of Sadat. He was never heard from again.
Hassan Mustafa Osama Nasr, a terrorism suspect who was grabbed off a Milan street in 2003 by spies from the US and Italy, have prosecutors issuing arrest warrants against 26 Americans and suspect Italy Sismi chief Nicolo Pollari, helped in the kidnapping. Nasr claims torture. If a judge authorizes a trial, it would be the first criminal prosecution anywhere in the world for "renditions," and could be just what some Bush and Rumsfeld Haters wish for with their endless rants that the leaders be tried as a war criminals.

Beware: George Bush's secret agents can now arrrest us in our own country *eyeroll* It depends on what your definition of "us" is. I can guarantee that the people being targeted DO NOT consider themselves Britons; anyone who believes that they do is mentally ill.

The case has provoked a huge row because the agents used tactics banned in Britain. In addition, the offense of which he is accused would not be a crime in this country. If British police officers had employed this type of sting, the ensuing case would almost certainly be thrown out of court. Not to worry...it won't be long before it will be a crime to do this, or any other tactic, to defend this Country here in the U.S.!

"In July 2003, ten defendants accused of laundering £15million walked free from Southwark Crown Court after Judge George Bathurst-Norman described police actions as 'massively illegal'. The judge said a police sting aimed at trapping them had 'overstepped the line between legitimate crime detection and unacceptable crime creation'." Ridiculous! If only they had..

The Daily Mail is one of Rupert Murdoch's tabloid rags. As such, it is prone to manufacturing news in order to sell copies in order to increase ad revenue.
Having lived in London for six years and having known hundreds of Brits, I suspect the vast majority of the citizenry are cheering for the Yanks for doing something that needed to be done which their own government couldn't accomplish.
