Well put. I am optimistic though, given the house and senate votes over the past year regarding a 'timetable for pullout' that we won't finish until the fight is done.

The time table should not be linked to when we can install democracy in Iraq that is not the purpose of war. The time table should be on when Iraq is no longer a military threat for the next several decades at least due to no capabilities to produce weapons nor transport same.

Sometimes I wonder what it will take for people to realize what we are fighting here. I hope it never becomes a reality.

I often wonder the same about Bush, congress and senate in both parties. They do not understand the enemy. They do not understand the enemies religion and it's history. The do not understand tribal existence and the hates it brings that has existed for in some cases 1000's of years. They do not understand that the Islamic nation sees charity as a weakness to use against us. They do not understand the Islamic nations only see peace talks as a means to re-group and gain their strength. They do not understand the Islamic nations put no value on life be it their children, wife, or uncle Ahab.

They do not understand that after they build the so called better Iraq that a dictator from hell 10 times worse as Saddam will step in and he will have the support of the people and especially radical Islamic clerics.

I repeat They do not understand that after they build the so called better Iraq that a dictator from hell 10 times worse as Saddam will step in and he will have the support of the people and especially radical Islamic clerics.

The so called new Iraqi Constitution makes Islam the unconditional religion of Iraq. Where's the democracy and freedom? Such as this the freedom to worship as we as individuals please men fought to their death for in this nation. That is why it will not work in Iraq. The people of Iraq will never understand democracy and freedom because they do not have the will to obtain it on their own which is the most required trait needed to maintain it.

Now understanding what is a stake here I support taking the nation and any other threat out in a precise military manner as prescribed by pre-Korea terms of engagement. I support 100% the next politician in the United States who proposes nation building being impeached from office. I understand that to win any war it must be fought until the will of the people are broken and all factions say no more then surrender all arms. Until that happens all of the nation must still be fought as the enemy as the enemy exist among them. That means you have no rules of engagement or agenda except to win. That much I do understand.

It worked well for the United States up until Truman in Korea who thought we could export democracy to Koreans. They are still a threat today. He was wrong. LBJ was wrong. Nixon was wrong. Bush SR was wrong. Clinton was wrong. Under the current rules of engagement and mission scope our congress and POTUS are as well wrong. They know not what war means or what war requires of our nation to win. They make us the laughing stock of the Islamic with their P.C. U.N. Resolution mandated policies. Islamic terrorist do not understand the concept of peace it is a sign of weakness to them. They hate each others guts and kill each other how much more so ours? Yea I understand it.

I see Islamic backed terrorism as a threat yes. But our current foreign policy is not the answer. It is not the answer because our leaders do not understand nor respect the will of the enemy in the M.E. to fight us for decades under the current rules we set. Are you ready for that with our current troop numbers? Anyone? It's insanity.

They have a will to fight absolute war. Does the congress or POTUS? From what I've seen NO. That will died in the 1950's from political correctness. PC does not win wars but it does enslave and destroy nations who bow to it and live by it's restraints. That is as much a threat to our future as Islamic Terrorist but nobody cares. It is a Marxist tool and our leadership abides in it and make it our military and national defense policy. That much I understand.

Until men who understand the cost and demands of war once again are elected instead of men and women who were indoctrinated by Marxist in their college days into a false concept of war we are stuck on stupid in our foreign and national defense policy. When more people understand that then toss such out of office where they belong then maybe we won't be seeing anymore planes flying into our skyscrapers nor the horror of suicide bombers in our nation.

It doesn't take a Department of Homeland Security to do this. It doesn't take a Patriot Act. It does not take restricting the rights and freedoms of our nation to accomplish this. It takes a will and resolve to destroy an enemy nation if necessary to achieve peace. Name me the elected politican with that will and resolve.

I will make one last point which I think drives it home. Our leadership does not understand the M.E. culture. How do I know this? They send a woman to be the messenger of our goverment. Pray tell how much more out of touch with the realities of the Middle East and Islam can our leaders be? It doesn't matter that we have women in positions of leadership in our nation. They do not except on very rare circumstance nor do they respect what they have to say. The Foreign Policy blunders of the U.S. are too many to count or keep up with. Most are born of Political Correctness.

Ironically there may have been only three presidents since WW2 who understood what I am saying. Ike as he was a WW2 general. JFK who likely determined rightfully so that the majority of the Cuban people would not fight against Castro themselves and called off the invasion. Then there was Reagan. The man who built the nations most ready military that changed the face of the globe without firing a shot to do it.
