The house will elect great leadership. Its the Senate that got us into this problem and will continue to be a cancer to concervatives.
We must look for two qualities in a leader. Uncompromising conservatism and a tough personality to stand up to the terroristic tactics of the Dems. McConnel is lacking the tough personality and Alexander is lacking both. I believe that he voted for amnesty. John Kyle and Tom Coburn would be better.
"McConnel is lacking the tough personality .."
I think you're underestimting McConnell. He's known to be quite tough and surely knows the Capitol Hill 'game' better than Frist ever did.... I admire Frist, personally, but as leader he was not up to the task. Having the likes of McCain and the rest of the R delegation to the Gang of 14 didn't help.
Okay, if I am to opine about this intelligently, can anyone 'splain me the rules?
Because if we Freepers have to tell the Senate who to pick, because obviously the Republicans in America's House of Lords don't have a clue, let's get the rules down.
Do you have to actually BE a member of the Senate currently to be majority/minority leader?
Is seniority a factor?
Can any Lord nominate themselves?
Does anyone have a list of the Republican Lords that will be in the Senate in the new congress?
