Sen. Trent Lott is being coy about whether he'll run for minority whip in the GOP leadership elections slated for Wednesday. But while Lott plays his cards close to his vest, his presumptive rival, Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., has already declared himself the winner.

I think Sen Sessions is terrific! He was so great during the SCOTUS confirmation hearings!

The ladies on the Snow Talk Show used to refer to him as Senator Cute as a Button - LOL! He definitely is that (speaking as another female fan of his) and he's also bright, well-informed, and articulate! A total package!

Jeff Sessions
DC ph# 202-224-4124

RNC
ph# 202-863-8500
(earlier thread suggested calling them and threatening to withhold contributions if we don't get some new hard right faces in leadership)

I remember saying No one could be worse than Lott. Then we got Frist. I am keeping my opinions to myself now.

To be perfectly honest the whole bunch look like the eunuch guards in someones harem

Thanks for the numbers.
I'll call and write, but I'm not on board with the threats to withhold contributions.

"McConnel is lacking the tough personality .."

I think you're underestimting McConnell. He's known to be quite tough and surely knows the Capitol Hill 'game' better than Frist ever did.... I admire Frist, personally, but as leader he was not up to the task. Having the likes of McCain and the rest of the R delegation to the Gang of 14 didn't help.

Please write to him or call his office.
I really think he's the best.

We need an articulate and likable senator to speak for the GOP.

I'd like to see some young blood come in and replace these old "deal makers".

Did you not notice what happened Tuesday? There is no young blood.

Isn't the Whip pretty much a vote counter for the caucus? I think that would be a good job for "Lamar!"

"He was trying to pretend that hurricane insurance is really flood insurance."

Speaking of insurance, Does that loser LOTT have HAIR insurance?

This is going to be like the movie Groundhog Day for the next two years.
New blood, new faces-not the same old losers who got us here in the first place.

Meant to say: Call Sessions (202-224-4124) and tell him to go for it, and call Lamar and Trent and tell them to go take a powder!

The Whip isn't just the vote counter, he's the vote enforcer (at least if he's doing his job)... he has to sway members to go along with the party line, not just count those on board. Arm twisting and horse-trading are the top qualification for the spot.

Alexander? Didn't he work behind the scenes to try to weasel an income tax on Tennesseeans?
I don't trust him.

Jeff Sessions is one of my favorite Republicans, easily.
If his accent wasn't so darn thick I'd say run him for President.
