Sen. Trent Lott is being coy about whether he'll run for minority whip in the GOP leadership elections slated for Wednesday. But while Lott plays his cards close to his vest, his presumptive rival, Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., has already declared himself the winner.

Ryun largely did not even run a campaign. Boyda ran against him a couple years ago and finely tuned her campaign this year.
With Ryun being arrogant and thinking everything was fine, he had the rug polled out from under him. Also, high turnout in the northeast hurt him.
It was a close loss, but a loss still largely since he has forgotten how to campaign. This is a seat we can and should gain back, however.
Son, they treat you like a 2 year old who thinks that string is soooo interesting. They pat you on the head and send you on your way.
And, like a 2 year old, it feeds your ego.
First time Bryant tried to run for senate the White house or someone in the RNC gave Alexander a heads up on Freds retirement. They were singing He's Mr Wonderful about Alexander before Fred uttered the words. The MSM media was directing the choir but the RNC wrote the words. This wasn't coming out of the state capitol but rather DC. That is one of my biggest beefs with the RNC and Bush is micromanaging state primaries for RINO's. This time around same thing. Early in the primaries I was getting recorded calls from Wamp about Corker. Wamp and Corker as well as the Mayor of Knox County are from the same area.
Since as it stands now the party with the Rockefeller GOP controlling it will not let Bryant or Hilleary be taken serious due to it's saturation of primaries. I wish Duncan would run for Alexanders seat next time up.
I noticed that you were on The America! One of our boys is an active duty officer and was on the America during the Persian Gulf war.

I was onboard from 77-80 and got out just in time to vote for Reagan. He'll know what I'm talking about I was in the AC&R shop. We kept the cold air flowing to the computer rooms and the food cold. BTW the former crewmembers have a web site too even though the ship is 15,000 below in Davy Jones Locker. www.ussamerica.org We're needing some phone callers real bad to try and have the new class carrier named AMERICA. The AMERICA was sank to gather critical data for the new carrier class.
