Ah, yes, the Remington Rangers.

The CIB would be easy to check out IF someone with an Army background looked at his 201 file. From what I read in the article, and Lord knows the reporters could've gotten thnings all screwed up, his MOS was in commo. That seems pretty clear and consistent.

I'll bet the CIB is faked. Doesn't mean he wasn't shot at, but only Infantry MOS's qualify. And serving at least 30 days in a combat zone doesn't trump the fact that it is a branch specific badge.

The local papers have the document from the military stating his service, in their newspaper, but so far i have not been able to find it on any of their web sites. If I can find it I'll post it here.

Take a look at this.

1964 - Levy leaves Atlantic City High School to join the Army, beginning a 20-year military career. He later said the resort’s high school principal forced him to leave the school.

1966-1967 - Bob Levy’s first tour of Vietnam. He is assigned to the headquarter’s detachment of the first aviation battelion, first infantry division as first a wireman, then switchboard operator.

1970-71 - Levy’s second tour in Vietnam; he is a village and hamlet communications advisor. Levy has said he lived in villages and performed missions with special forces personnel.

1978 - In March, Levy assumes the role of commander for the Atlantic City Army recruiting station after six years as a hometown recruiter.

1980 - After successfully resuscitating an infant at the States Avenue Beach in August, Levy claims to a Press of Atlantic City reporter, “I was a Green Beret in Vietnam and I guess I’ve taken a few lives. It feels good to be on the other side this time.”

1984 - Levy is honorably discharged.
