I too voted "R" knowing full well that the fence would never be built. I wasn't duped that day. I was self deluded, into thinking that perhaps the "Compassionate Conservative" would at least be conservative. And after all he wasn't Gore or Kerry.

That said, I have been and continue to be quite saddened by George W. Bush's presidency. As hard as I try and reconcile those feelings, I just keep coming up short. Even with the "after all" he wasn't one of them argument. Not that I ever wanted one of "them".

Our political system, while still the best in the world, is in a sad, sad state.

I've reached the point with Bush where I don't care if they impeach him next year or not. I'm that disgusted.
