I consider myself fairly well-versed on politics, but I never HEARD of Haggard until he was "outed" by the media. I think his effect on the ultimate outcome was almost nada.

I agree 100%. I never heard of him either.

I never even heard of Tom Foley until the Media decided that I was supposed to be concerned about him and went wall-to-wall just before election day.

I think his outing (of whatever it was that he did) effected the results in Colorado. Outside Colorado, the effect was minor.

I attend a "religious right" church. When Haggard's scandal came out, we were like, "Who's Haggard?".

I agree. In fact, since we won the Colorado Springs-based CO-05 by a much larger margin than the polls indicated, if anything the Haggard scandal mobilized religious conservative voters in Haggard's home area.
