Actually "we" are, but our politicians weren't. Rank and file Republicans have been complaining loud and clear for several years about how both the administration and congress have forgotten who sent them there and why. Hardly a single top-level Republican has behaved as a conservative since Newt went down in flames at the hands of the Lefties/MSM. 1994 and the 'revolution' was indeed a perfect storm of politics. I don't know that we'll ever have that chance again in our lifetime, to show the world what true conservatism can do when yielded by those who believe in it and practice what they preach.
Many of the Founding Fathers believed, and stated frequently, that America came into existence as a result of Divine Intervention. I agree. There is simply no other way to explain the plethora of talent, and devotion to a cause, that was needed to accomplish what they did.
If indeed America was the result of direct intervention by the great "I Am" then it's not very hard to feel that the more we allow God to be purged from our life as a country the less we can depend on Him to continue to bless us.
