Faced with poor job prospects, high taxes and an intrusive bureaucracy, more and more Germans are choosing to emigrate. Most of those who leave, though, are highly qualified -- which could mean devastating economic consequences.

They are fed up, truly fed up. Fed up with the constant bickering over the costs of wage benefits, social reforms, elimination of subsidies, store closing hours and all the other symbols of a country stuck in bureaucratic and legislative gridlock.

They are tired of living in country where landing a job is like playing the lottery, a country where not even half of citizens live from gainful employment and a country in which even academics in their mid-40s are already considered problem cases when it comes to job placement. In other words, they are fed up with living in a country where all opportunities already seem to be taken: opportunities to succeed in one's career, to own property and to achieve prosperity...

Oh, they most certainly WILL be bringing their socialist poison mentality with them. I was stationed in Germany for almost 7 years, and socialistic thought is so ingrained in the German consciousness that it is literally second nature. I wouldn't expect that to change all that much if a large number came here, even if it was because that very mentality caused their exodus in the first place.

Same thing happen in Sweden. More Swedes here in the U.S. than Sweden. My husband is one of Swedes.

Sweden was overrun with Muslims. That's what killed Sweden. Other nordic countries are paying very close attention now.

It will happen, if not Germany most likely France. Already the Muslim population in France is 20% and already there are calls by them for Sharia law. Obviously no threat now, but this liberal path the world has chosen if continued will eventually 100% give these psychopaths the same direct route to power that brought Hitler and Nazism to absolute control. All it takes is the spread of fear. Fear is control. People afraid to speak out or rebel for fear that someone may be listening. When it is too late, which is only a short time away, who is going to help if the US retreats from Iraq? Remember, Nazism practically overtook the entire European continent with only a fraction of what the radical Islamic followers have now. This sh8t is no joke. There are billions of Muslims in this world right now, and if even a fraction of them are radical, that is a 10`s of millions if not 100`s of millions of them! No army on earth will be able to stand up to that. What this world has to do is join together, otherwise it is checkmate, game over man. These pricks are a true cancer on humanity and this is the message that has to be spread at all costs. Bush, Blair have tried it, but you get these damn liberal pricks who continually swat it down.

My maternal grandparents came from Germany, my paternal great-grandparents from Sweden. I have a sister-in-law who came from Cambodia (as a baby) after her father was murdered for being an educator, and another sister-in-law whose family came here from Ukraine due to being persecuted for being Christians. They all came to America and became U.S. citizens for better opportunites and survival, and I'm so grateful they did!

Oh thats' fantastic... Very happy for you. There are a lot of opportunities here and America is the greatest country in the world.. Wish more people realize that fact. Its' so sad to see so many moonbats that have absolutely no knowlege what life is like outside of the U.S. I personally wish they would all move to Iran, Iraq (once are soldiers are home first), N. If there are 43-million plus German-Americans in the US vs. 83 million Germans in Germany, I'd have to say it looks like this trend has been going on for some time.

Germans in Germany also have a female fertility rate of 1.29, so in less than 1 (one) generation, there should be more German-Americans living in the US than German-Germans living in Germany. Ignoring immigration. It could be much sooner.

I say let them know good and well we've received the message , redeploy our military from Germany to the borders of Iraq (Syria, et al) (A-10's work well on camels) and watch German unemployment jump another 2%... This would hasten the decline in the euro and help the dollar , might pay for itself at the EU's expense..

Correct. We already have enough problems because of over-regulation. Some OSHA, DOT and other federal regulations are unecessary and costly for companies. Potential employers are also afraid to hire and fire people as they see fit because of the potential of getting sued by 'bad hires' over worker's compensation, civil rights or sexual harassment. Many of such suits are unwarranted and frivolous. Good paying positions are few and far-between as well. Companies are moving these jobs to China and India, while at the same time, Illegal Immigration is keeping wages stagnant. Companies have also lowered starting wages because of Illegal Immigration.

There are only 2 things we need to end up like a Euro-Socialist nanny-state. The first is nationalized healthcare, this will cause taxes to skyrocket and diminish the quality of care. The 2nd thing would be reparations for slavery. We are on the road to disaster.
