Hard to believe that it's a significant phenomenon.

This is in a grand total of five units, and it's in three days. Also, the retention guy in each command now has a LOT of spare time--nobody's walking into their offices.
The troops have read the writing on the wall, and they're proceeding to the exit in an orderly, disciplined, calm manner. This orderly, disciplined, calm manner will last until the first email rumor of Gates being ready to invoke stop-loss hits.

It won't happen. Most in the military itself oppose the draft. Also, the cost of feeding and housing every man from 18 to 42 y/o would be so phenominal, it would break the bank. The nation can't afford such a thing.

Good afternoon.
"Hard to believe that it's a significant phenomenon."
Why? The FreeRepublic is full of people who's time in the military ended because of what bill clinton and the DemocRATs were doing to the services when the FReepers were in.
The same harm that was done under MCNamera, Jimmah Cahtuh and bill clinton is about to be done again during a war for survival.
We'll find out soon enough whether or not the DemocRATs have a clue about what a war is. Interesting times, eh.
