Nothing is stopping your from volunteering. Just don't volunteer me or my kids.

I think that pretty much puts the kibosh on any kind of "national service" requirement (except as a punishment for a crime).

Then how was it that the draft was in place until the early '70's.....with your attitude of Just don't volunteer me or my kids. is typical of my old tag line..."Americans are so spoiled with freedom they have no idea what it took to get it or what it takes to maintain it" Frankly your attitude is a slap in the face to all who serve or have served!!

No one said your kids had to do any volunteering. I just think it is a good thing, but others do not. I can live with that.

I wish everyone had the chance to live for a year overseas and experience a different culture, but not everyone does.
