Republicans Were 5,038 Votes Short of a 51-49 Senate Majority

I know the Republicans lost; it is time for sole searching, etc. etc. The fact is, however, if 3,615 votes in Virginia and 1,423 votes in Montana had gone the other way, the Dems would have no Majority. My point? The Dems will not be the Permanent Majority for too long.
Here is the math: Web in Virginia won with a 7,231-vote margin Half of it is 3,615. In Montana, Jon Tester won with a 2,847 margin half of it is 1,423.
3,615 + 1,423 = 5,038.

Right, and if Jon "Stuck N Irak" Carry turned around 60,000 votes in Ohio he'd be president. The repubs lost because they turned into Democrats and got what they deserved.
Just so you know I voted straight republican, but that's my post mordem. Also, I don't think it helps that W is doing Americorps ads. Some free thinking people believe charity and good works can be done without the government.

Libertarians are few and far between. They have zero impact on elections. The Libertarian in MT certainly had an "impact" on that election. He got about 5 times the number of votes separating the Democrat and Republican. Had been off the ticket even a slight break toward Pubbies by those libertarian voters would have given Republicans the seat.

Imagine if this had been the RATS. They'd be crying voter fraud, intimidation, etc. The press would be stirring the pot until 2008.
I haven't watched tv since last Tuesday night. I'm much happier.
