In a nationwide election, Newt is simply unelectable. Hillary would trounce him, and so the sooner we can pop this particular bubble, the better it will be for our propsetcs in 2008.

Don't get me wrong, I like Newt. He's a damn fine historian and educator, but he has no political clout anymore and no nationwide support base. We need a relatively young, articulate, solidly Conservative governor with no personal baggage or skeletons in his closet to rally around and to carry the Conservative banner forward in 2008.

If you are looking for someone without 'baggage' you will not find him. So, no need to have a campaign if we follow your prescription. Newt gave us the House in 1994. He set into motion the Reagan Revolution resulting the taking of this government in the House, Senate, and Presidency. Everyone touts Rudi. Didn't Rudy leave his wife? Why does he get a pass? Hell, even David, the Apple of God's eye committed worse transgressions than Newt and God forgave him. If you are without sin, I will take marching orders from you, but I know only one person who fits that bill.

We, the conservatives need to rally around a leader, and as of now that should be Newt.
