"ennemis héréditaires" or Erbfeind

Never again!

Robert Schuman ... ... Off topic - I had the privilege to meet his attendant Pierre Pflimlin when I was a youngster in the mid 80ties. He was a very impressive person to me.

One of the reasons why I have a different view on the necessity of European integration compared to most other Freepers here, although I also dismiss the bureaucratic and ineffective monster our politicians made out of this once good idea.

WW1 was a tragedy for France, France never recovered from the second bloodiest war in history fought almost entirely on French soil. 1.4 million killed no telling how many badly wounded. An entire generation of a nations bravest and brightest wiped out. France will never be the same.

If there is a draft (military age) women will be subject to that draft. Whitch of couse is insane, but if equal means equal and combat arms are open to women volunteers then women will be drafted right along with (military age) men. The only way to prevent that is to return to the policy of not allowing women combat roles.
