I understand the passion for curtailing illegal immigration but I personally know too many Republicans who thought the rhetoric was too much.

Ask them about the rhetoric when ten years from now speaking spanish will be required to get a job.

Believe me, I have. I understand their position as well.

They'd rather have a spanish speaking illegal who goes to church, works and cares for his family as a neighbor than an English speaking American who refuses to work and doesn't support his children.

It's a tough call for many, whether we like it or not.

They know nothing of our history nor do they care

And many Pubs speak about America as though it is nothing but a piece of real estate, and a place to get jobs. In that respect both groups do share something in common.
