a bit reminiscent of the old Isetta

For the 16k tag, people will opt for a decked out Honda/Toyota.
For $16k I can get a used, but very good condition C4 Corvette, which has way more masculinity to it.

re: Not the prettiest car around.....
I drive around in a bright yellow Scion. You would be shocked at the unkind things people say about it and the questions they ask. I've even come out and found a note written on the window in a marker saying what an ugly car it is! I have to be very careful in traffic. If I piss anyone off they will have no problem spotting me again!
I might just try one of these little jewels. I've got my titers up and the insults shouldn't bother me like they would a newcomer to the itsy-bitsy, unattractive car club!

You should see the paint jobs on some of them. My daughters think they are cute.

I think the sports car really may have died with this generation.

How is it possible that this POS can be street legal, yet four-wheelers that require licensing and property taxes are against local ordinances?
I'm stickin with my truck.

They seem to survive OK on Germanys autobahns with 44-ton trucks whistling by, but they are only driven by women and gays which is where the interchangeable body panels come in handy - you can change the colour of your car daily to suit your mood. . . . .

From same website further down:

Handbuilt Kiddie Cars On the Auction Block Handbuilt Toy CarThere's a new solution to that tricky Christmas problem of what to give the child who has everything - the ultimate kiddie car. A British auction house is selling five totally unique hand-built machines, including a ten-foot-long NASCAR replica said to be inspired by Tom Cruise's racecar in Days of Thunder. The machine cost $20,000 to create, features full crumple zones and is powered by a 300-cc Kubota engine. Selling with it is an eleven-foot drag racer, complete with safety harness. It's performed at the legendary U.K. Santa Pod raceway, reaching speeds of more than 60 mph over the quarter mile. The set is completed with a pair of American-style bathtub hotrods, plus a stunning ten-foot replica of the Batmobile from Batman Returns. It features on-board computers, pit-to-car communications and a sound-effect system that mimics a machine gun and rocket launcher. It's listed in the catalogue as being suitable for drivers aged five and above. For more details, e-mail info@classic-auctions.co.uk. -Richard Yarrow

With a 45 HP diesel engine, it might be wise to avoid high speed motorways!

Can't wait to drive one on the Interstate with a 18-wheeler passing by.... You could get creamed by an 18-wheeler in one of those jobs and no one would know it until the truck driver went to check his oil.
