Meanwhile, Webb, Ford Junior, Tester, and McCaskill were receiving either kid-glove or regal treatment throughout the cable and network "news".

I agree. My impression is that the Republicans in the beltway loop were more invested in defeating their party than in rooting for it's success. I believe their self serving agenda will bleed voters away from the GOP. IMO, we grass roots Republicans are basically on our own. Which is fine by me. At least we know who not to depend on. And we will recognize the back stabbers and ignore their input as we gear up for 2008.
