Why did the Republican party waste $ trying to get Chaffee elected? Because he is the kind of Republican those in charge of the party want in office. Every time you send 1 penny to the RNC or any of the assorted groups the party runs to elect Republicans, it goes to support this kind of candidate. Conservatives get nothing or next to nothing from the national party because they are able to raise their money from conservative voters. These RINOs and worse run on the money conservatives supply to these groups so you are paying to elect them if you contribute. Just stop donating to them.
Oh, and this is the same money they use (yours) to defeat your candidate in the primaries after they tell you to knock out the RINOs in the primaries and then vote Republican in the fall even though your candidate is long gone. According to them, he couldn't possibly get elected any way. He's way too conservative and he is underfunded because he's not going to get the time of day from them.
