Mehlman has been throwing fairy dust at the RNC..
And makeover has been quite queer.. and cross dressed republicans just lost office..
Probably according to plan...

Steele would be an excellent choice.
The GOP lost 22 seats by 5000 votes or less, eighteen of which were in Republican majority districts.
Steele can recruit the next slate of candidates to challenge for those seats, which should be returned in the next cycle with smart recruitment and campaigning.

He would be awesome! Steele is EXTREMELY articulate and likable!

It did seem that Mehlman lost his motivation in late Spring and has not been out there energized and visible as he was last year. To his credit he did go through the motions without giving a hint that he was planning an exit.
To: icwhatudo
Sounds like an excellent choice! Steele has such a commanding presence and really has all his wits about him...

I think we need a Strong capable person with strategy and leadership skills rather than some feel good person.
I am not sure whether Steele has the skills to talk on the job, i prefer someone like Hayley barbour, Marc Raciciot etc. Dems had Howard dean who though despised managed to rebuild his party in the elections.
